Description: Lions tight end Tony Scheffler missed Wednesday's practice due to a concussion suffered in Sunday's game with Green Bay.

Description: Lions WR Nate Burleson's recent return is believed to be a big factor on why TE Tony Scheffler's offensive role has decreased. SOURCE: DETROIT NEWS
Insight: Burleson is coming off his best game of the season, catching seven passes for 113 yards and a score against the Jets. Unfortunately, his value could be short lived now that Shaun Hill is back under center. As for Scheffler, he never really was a true fantasy prospect while sharing the field with Brandon Pettigrew.

Description: The Detroit News reports Scheffler (concussion) isn't ready to rule himself out for this week's game yet.

Description: Tom Kowalski of MLive.com expects Scheffler to be a "big time threat" for the Lions this season.
Insight: The team has mentioned using Scheffler in the slot, much as the Colts use Dallas Clark. Being part of what could be a pass-happy offense certainly helps his fantasy potential. (SportsBuff.com)

5/13/2010 3:38:00 PM
Description: The Detroit Free Press reports Scheffler (foot) sat out OTAs on Thursday with a minor foot injury.
Insight: This does not seem to be a major concern, being as it is so early in the offseason. Scheffler could be a factor in the Lions' offense this season. (SportsBuff.com)

4/14/2010 8:03:00 PM
Description: Restricted free agent Tony Scheffler is close to signing his one-year tender, according to the Denver Post.
Insight: Like the Brandon Marshall situation, this could be a prelude to Scheffler being traded. The oft imjured tight end could benefit from a move to another team. (SportsBuff.com)

4/10/2010 2:00:00 PM
Description: The Broncos recently placed calls to restricted free agents Tony Scheffler, Brandon Marshall, Kyle Orton, and Elvis Dumervil to encourage them to sign their one-year tender offers.
Insight: Scheffler needs to prove he can stay healthy before Denver invests in him long-term. However, he obviously believes he is worth more than a 10% raise. (sportsBuff.com)

3/3/2010 9:05:00 PM
Description: Scheffler was given a second round tender by the Broncos
Insight: It would serve them right to lose him. Denver has never utilized the ultra talented tight end correctly and, in the right set of circumstances, he could be a top ten fantasy threat. (SportsBuff.com)

Description: Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reports the Rams could be interested in trading for Scheffler.
