Broncos sign CB Talib
Englewood, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Denver Broncos have agreed to terms on a six-year contract with cornerback Aqib Talib.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the pact is reportedly worth $57 million, with $26 million guaranteed.
Talib, 29, appeared in 13 games for New England last season, posting 35 tackles, 13 passes defensed and four interceptions.
Talib, widely regarded as one of the top free agents of 2014, was originally selected with the 20th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Talib remained with the Bucs until 2012 when he was shipped to New England for a fourth-round pick.
The Kansas product was knocked out of the Patriots AFC Championship loss to the Broncos by Denver wide receiver Wes Welker on a legal, but low block. Talib left the game with a knee injury and did not return.
Over 77 career games, Talib had 211 tackles and 23 interceptions -- four returned for touchdowns.
