Titans re-sign Pollard to 2-year deal
Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tennessee Titans re-signed safety Bernard Pollard to a two-year contract on Monday.
Pollard, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 11, led the Titans with a career-high 142 tackles and added three interceptions in 16 starts at strong safety last season, his first with Tennessee.
"We were pleased with the job Bernard did for us in his first season with us last year," Titans general manager Ruston Webster said. "Getting this deal done today helps our overall plan for this offseason. We still have work ahead of us trying to retain some of our other players, but we are glad to be able to get this one done."
Selected by Kansas City in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Pollard has racked up 683 tackles, 9 1/2 sacks, 12 interceptions and 50 passes defensed while starting 101 games over eight seasons with the Chiefs, Texans, Ravens and Titans.
