Giants place CB Webster on IR
East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants placed cornerback Corey Webster on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday.
Webster, a nine-year veteran, played in New York's first two games but was inactive for the next four because of a groin injury.
He returned to the field for the Giants' Week 7 meeting against Minnesota and played again the following week in Philadelphia, where he suffered an ankle injury that has sidelined him for New York's last six games.
The 31-year-old LSU product finished the season with 13 tackles and one pass defensed.
To fill the vacated roster spot, the Giants signed wide receiver Julian Talley from the team's practice squad.
Talley, who's spent the entire season on New York's practice squad, caught seven passes for 98 yards in the preseason and could be needed to replace Victor Cruz, who is dealing with a concussion and knee injury he suffered against Seattle on Sunday.
New York also signed running back Kendall Gaskins to the practice squad.
