NCAA Game Summary - Massachusetts at Miami-Ohio

Oxford, OH (Sports Network) - Zac Dysert threw for 192 yards and three
touchdowns as he led Miami-Ohio to a 27-16 Mid-American Conference victory
over Massachusetts at Yager Stadium.
Dysert was 12-of-22 passing with an interception and, on 12 attempts, added 76
yards and a touchdown on the ground in the RedHawks' (2-2, 1-0 MAC) victory.
With the 12 completions, Dysert now has 855 for his career, establishing a new
school record. The previous mark of 854 was held by Ben Roethlisberger
Dawan Scott was Dysert's key target as he had a career-high of 92 yards
receiving and two touchdowns on three receptions. Spencer Treadwell
contributed 33 yards and a touchdown on his once catch.
Also for Miami, Jamire Westbrook had his first 100-yard game with a career-
high 105 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
For the Minutemen (0-4, 0-1), who were making their debut in MAC play,
Michael Cox was the main source of offense having his own career-high day,
rushing for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.
Mike Wegzyn was unable to get much of a pass game going for Massachusetts,
completing 19-of-40 attempts for 213 yards, no touchdowns and three
Deion Walker added his own career-high performance with six receptions and 81
yards in the setback, the seventh straight for the program going back to last
Early in the second quarter Dysert and Scott connected for a 49-yard touchdown
pass play to put Miami on the board first, 7-0.
Massachusetts responded with a 30-yard field goal by Brendon Levengood.
The RedHawks kept their offense rolling as they topped off a six-play, 89-yard
drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Dysert to Scott to give the hosts a
14-3 advantage at the break.
Miami continued to increase their lead in the second half when Dysert ran in
for a seven-yard touchdown to go up 21-3.
Late in the third quarter, Cox scored the first touchdown for UMass as he
flipped into the end zone to finish off a nine-yard run and cut the
Minutemen's deficit to 21-10.
To begin the fourth quarter Dysert capped off a huge eight-play, 88-yard drive
with a 33-yard touchdown pass to Treadwell. They were unsuccessful on their
two-point conversion attempt however, leaving the RedHawks with a 27-10 edge.
Scoring the last points of the game, Cox finished a 12-play, 80-yard drive
with a two-yard touchdown run, but with a failed PAT, UMass was still left
with the double-digit setback.
UMass, which finished with 471 yards of total offense, hurt itself with eight
penalties for 88 yards on the afternoon.
