Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Kolton Browning completed 26-of-38 passes for 285 yards and one touchdown to lead the ULM Warhawks to a 31-17 victory over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in Sun Belt Conference action at Floyd Stadium.
ULM (3-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) running back Jyruss Edwards ran for 87 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns. Je'Ron Hamm caught three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown and Brent Leonard added a game-high eight catches for 73 yards.
For Middle Tennessee (3-2, 1-1), Logan Kilgore completed 23-of-34 passes for 238 yards and threw one interception. Benny Cunningham ran for 64 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns. Anthony Amos (96 yards) and Kyle Griswould (55 yards) each hauled in seven catches.
The Blue Raiders scored first when Carlos Lopez made a 44-yard field goal to give them the first lead at 3-0.
The Warhawks responded with a 16-yard touchdown run by Edwards later in the first quarter to put them up 7-3.
The second quarter was all ULM. Justin Manton connected on a 32-yard field goal at the 11:42 mark, and later in the frame Browning hooked up with Hamm for a three-yard touchdown strike to go up, 17-3.
On the opening drive in the second half, Edwards scored on a five-yard touchdown run to add on to ULM's lead.
Midway through the third quarter, The Blue Raiders finally scored a touchdown on a seven-yard run by Cunningham, which made the score 24-10.
The Warhawks took advantage of a Blue Raiders' turnover late in the third quarter with a Centarius Donald one-yard touchdown run to go up 31-10, their biggest lead of the game.
Middle Tennessee scored early in the fourth quarter when Cunningham ran in a one-yard touchdown, but that would be the final score of the game.
ULM outgained Middle Tennessee in total yards, 500-307. The Warhawks also converted 13-of-21 third downs and were 2-of-2 on fourth down.
