CFL, CFLPA reach tentative deal
Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Canadian Football League and the CFL Players' Association have reached a tentative agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement to avoid a potential strike.
According to a joint statement released by the league and the CFLPA on Saturday, the pact is still pending ratification by a vote of the players and the CFL's Board of Governors. The vote will be scheduled as soon as possible.
Once the votes take place, further details on the new CBA will be made public.
The tentative agreement ends nearly two weeks of fruitless discussions between the two sides on a new CBA, which officially expired at midnight ET on May 29.
