Ticats QB Burris leads pack of CFL's best

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Henry Burris headlines the four players named as the Canadian Football League's top players for the final week of the 2012 regular season.

Burris garnered top offensive honors after completing 37-of-55 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns, along with 19 rushing yards in the Ticats' season- ending 43-40 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

Defensive honors went to Edmonton Eskimos linebacker J.C. Sherritt, who racked up 11 tackles and one sack in a 30-27 loss to Calgary. In the process, Sherritt set a new CFL record for tackles in one season with 130, besting Calvin Tiggle's previous mark by one.

Toronto Argonauts kicker Swayze Waters took home the special teams award after going 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on extra-point tries in the win over Hamilton. His 51-yard make late in the contest was the winner, which eliminated the Steeltown club from postseason consideration.

Canadian player of the week honors went to Winnipeg linebacker Henoc Muamba, who compiled 10 tackles and one sack in a 19-11 victory over Montreal.
