Morgan finished the contest with 16 points, shooting just 3-of-9 behind the three-point line and 5-of-13 from the floor overall for the Bulldogs (1-3) as they snapped a three-game slide. Leading all scorers was Justin Sears who dropped in 19 points, in addition to clearing seven rebounds. The Bulls (1-4) were paced by Javon McCrea as he made good on all but one of his 14 free-throw attempts, en route to 17 points after making just 2-of-11 shots from the field. Jarod Oldham added 16 points and a game-high 10 boards in the setback. Buffalo made a total of only eight field goals in the first half, but the squad was able to remain close thanks to 15-of-19 shooting at the charity stripe. McCrea made all 10 of his chances at the line in the period, but still the Bulls trailed by three at the break, 36-33. In the second half, Yale was held to a mere 5-of-19 shooting from the field, but the team compensated with a 15-of-21 showing at the line to capture the four-point win.
