NBA Game Summary - San Antonio at Washington

(Monday, November 26th)

Final Score: San Antonio 118, Washington 92

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Boris Diaw led a balanced San Antonio attack with 16 points as the Spurs kept the Washington Wizards winless on the season with a 118-92 pounding at Verizon Center.

Tiago Splitter added 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Tony Parker also netted 15 points. Tim Duncan had 14, Gary Neal poured in 13, Manu Ginobili scored 12 and Matt Bonner finished with 11 for the Spurs, who have won four straight.

Jordan Crawford paced the Wizards with 19 points and Kevin Seraphin dropped in 18 as Washington fell to 0-12 on the season, adding to the worst start in franchise history.

"We're all embarrassed, plain and simple. We knew the game plan and didn't execute it," Wizards forward Martell Webster said. "All-around effort was not up to par and we have to be better."

Washington controlled the early action, but after a Trevor Ariza putback gave the Wizards an 11-5 lead, San Antonio answered with a 17-8 run to go on top, 22-19, with about 2 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter.

Webster converted a four-point play to halt the run and start a personal 6-0 push that gave Washington back the lead, but the Spurs closed out the frame with seven straight points to carry a 29-25 edge into the second quarter.

The Wizards opened the second with a 7-0 spurt to regain a 32-29 advantage before the Spurs again responded with a 7-2 push to take the lead for good.

Washington would get within two on multiple occasions, but San Antonio ended the half on a 10-0 spurt to take a 60-48 lead.

The Spurs then shot 72.2 percent from the field in the third quarter as San Antonio outscored the Wizards, 32-22, en route to a 92-70 lead entering the fourth, where Washington trailed by at least 22 and by as much as 29 for the remainder of the game.

"They've been close in a lot of games. They have a young, talented squad and anything can happen, so it was good that we responded well and everybody that played contributed," Ginobili said. "That was the key."
