Su-Hyun Oh leads Women's Am

Glen Cove, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Su-Hyun Oh carded a 4-under 66 on Monday and grabbed a 1-shot lead after the opening round of stroke play at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.

The Australian birdied the second and fourth at Nassau Country Club, but gave those shots back with bogeys at five and seven.

Oh, one of last year's quarterfinalists, ran off three birdies in a 4-hole span from the ninth to jump into the lead. Oh also birdied the par-5 15th before closing with three pars in a row.

Hannah O'Sullivan is alone in second place at minus-3, while Megan Khang carded a 2-under 68 and is alone in third.

Alison Lee, who played on the U.S. Curtis Cup team earlier this year, posted a 1-under 69. She shares fourth place with Bethany Wu, Andrea Lee and Bailey Tardy.

Princess Mary Superal, the 2014 U.S. Girls Junior champion, shot even-par 70 and was joined in eighth place by Grace Na, Angel Yin and Celine Boutier.

Defending champion Emma Talley struggled to a 6-over 76, which left her tied for 86th.

Doris Chen, who won the NCAA Individual title earlier this year, withdrew with an ankle injury.

Stroke play will wrap up on Tuesday before the championship moves into the match play portion of the event on Wednesday. The 36-hole final will take place on Sunday.
