Fort McMurray, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Joel Dahmen carded a 6-under 66 on Friday and he extended his lead to three strokes after two rounds of the Syncrude Boreal Open.

Dahmen, who collected his first career win on the PGA Tour Canada at the season-opening PC Financial Open, ended 36 holes at 15-under-par 129.

He set a new tournament 36-hole scoring record with his total of 129. Nate McCoy set the previous mark of 132 in 2012.

Ryan Williams and Jeff Corr both fired 7-under 65s. Williams is alone in second at minus-12, while Corr is alone in third at 11-under 133.

Daniel McCarthy fired a course-record, 10-under 62 in round two at Fort McMurray Golf Club. Cory Renfrew had the old mark of 63, which he established in 2012.

Dahmen bogeyed the first, but atoned for that mistake with a birdie on the fifth. He carded back-to-back birdies at eight and nine to make the turn at minus-11.

The Order of Merit leader birdied the 11th and 13th. Dahmen converted birdies at 15 and 16 to get to 15-under. He parred the last to end there.
