(Saturday, February 9) Final Score: Tennessee-Martin 77, SIU Edwardsville 68 Martin, TN (Sports Network) - Myles Taylor had a game-high 23 points in 22 minutes off the bench, as the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks claimed a 77-68 win over the SIU Edwardsville Cougars in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Elam Center. Terence Smith added 16 points and Mike Liabo scored 15 to help the Skyhawks (7-17, 4-8 OVC) sweep the season series with the Cougars. Jerome Jones led the way with 18 points for SIUE (8-13, 4-7), while Kris Davis scored 15 and dished out seven assists. UTM broke a 15-15 tie with a 12-1 run, capped by Taylor's jumper with 5:30 to play until halftime. The Skyhawks took a 37-30 lead into the break behind a 50-percent shooting effort from the floor in the opening frame. The Skyhawks were even more efficient in the second stanza, as they shot at a 66.7-percent clip and led by as many as 17 late in the contest. Smith provided a spark with 10 of his 16 points coming after halftime. UTM forced 15 turnovers for the game and held a key 19-9 edge in points off turnovers.
