(Saturday, February 9) Final Score: Louisiana Tech 84, Texas State 69 Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Raheem Appleby scored 21 points as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs took down the Texas State Bobcats, 84-69, in a Western Athletic Conference bout at Thomas Assembly Center. Alex Hamilton had 15 points, Isaiah Massey chipped in 10 and Chris Anderson collected 13 rebounds for Louisiana Tech (21-3, 12-0 WAC) which has won 13 straight. Joel Wright had 13 points, Reid Koenen added 12 and Wesley Davis and Basil Brown each contributed 11 for Texas State (7-18, 3-10) which has lost four straight. Despite shooting just 39.5 percent from the floor in the first half, Louisiana Tech had a 36-29 edge at the break by holding Texas State to 35.5 percent shooting. After the break the Bulldogs improved to 51.9 percent shooting to coast to the 15-point victory. Each team had 17 turnovers and Texas State had a 25-10 edge in points off takeaways.
