=== Schumacher out of coma, leaves hospital ===

(SportsNetwork.com) - Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher is no
longer in a coma and has left a French hospital.

The Formula One website posted a statement released by Schumacher's management
team, saying the legendary driver has departed Grenoble University Hospital
after months of treatment for injuries stemming from a skiing accident last
 December.

"His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses
and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the
accident, who did an excellent job in those first months," read the statement.

"The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the
many good wishes to Michael. We are sure it helped him. For the future we ask
for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from
 the public eye."

Schumacher hit his head after a fall while on a family ski trip on Dec. 29 in
the French Alps. He was wearing a helmet, which the doctors said likely saved
 his life.

The 45-year-old German, who retired from Formula One racing at the conclusion
of the 2012 season, was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Moutiers and then
 moved to Grenoble.

In addition to his seven titles, Schumacher posted 91 Grand Prix victories and
