Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - Anne Marie Armstrong and Jasmine Hassell
poured in 14 points apiece on Wednesday to lead No. 6 Georgia to a 72-59
victory over TCU at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
Erika Ford followed with 13 points off the bench, while Shacobia Barbee
tallied eight points, six rebounds and six assists for the Lady Bulldogs
(12-0), who have won all but one of their games by double digits.
Natalie Ventress led TCU (5-4) with a game-high 19 points and Donielle Breaux
chipped in 14 points off the bench in the setback, the Horned Frogs' second in
their last three games.
TCU trailed by just three, 15-12, just over six minutes in, but the Lady
Bulldogs scored the next 10 points to build a 13-point advantage.
Georgia's lead ballooned to 38-21 at the break before the visitors opened the
second half on a 7-2 swing to press the margin to 22 points.
The Horned Frogs got as close as seven later in the frame after a 3-pointer
from Zahna Medley, but Georgia countered with the next four points before
knocking down 4-of-7 free throws over the final 90 seconds to hold on for the
victory.
