Johnson jumps to 12th in world rankings
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Dustin Johnson claimed his first World Golf Championship victory on Sunday and that helped him move back into the top 20 in this week's world golf rankings.
Johnson, who earned his eighth PGA Tour victory, soared 11 spots to No. 12 this week.
Tiger Woods and Adam Scott remained the top-two ranked players. Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson exchanged places with Stenson inching up to No. 3.
U.S. Open champion Justin Rose held steady at No. 5 and was again followed by Rory McIlroy, Steve Stricker, Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker and Jason Dufner.
Graeme McDowell, who shared second place behind Dustin Johnson, inched up one to 11th. Dustin Johnson moved into 12th and those two moves bumped Zach Johnson down a pair to 13th.
Jim Furyk dipped one to 14, Keegan Bradley stayed put at 15 and Luke Donald slid a pair to 16th. Ian Poulter, who shared second with McDowell, jumped five to No. 17, while Sergio Garcia inched up one to 18.
Webb Simpson, Jason Day and Charl Schwartzel all fell three spots to 19th-21st, respectively. Jordan Spieth also fell out of the top 20 as he dropped a pair to 22nd.
