McNeese State loses All-America free safety
Lake Charles, LA (Sports Network) - McNeese State will be without senior All- America free safety Malcolm Bronson for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury.
A university spokesman confirmed Thursday that Bronson was injured in the second half of last week's 35-21 win at Weber State. The senior from Jasper, Texas, has played a key role in helping the Cowboys improve to 3-0. He is considered a 2013 NFL Draft prospect.
Bronson was looking to become just the sixth player in Southland Conference history to earn four straight first-team honors.
He is a member of The Sports Network's Buck Buchanan Award Watch List for FCS defensive player of the year honors. He also was one of just two Southland players to be named to the inaugural Senior Bowl Watch List.
Bronson expects to graduate in December.
