NCAA Game Summary - North Carolina at Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - Tanner Price snuck one yard into the end zone for the go-ahead score to lift the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to a 28-27 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels in an Atlantic Coast Conference thriller at BB &T Field.
Price rushed for two total touchdowns while completing 27-of-38 passes for career-high 327 yards with an interception for Wake Forest (2-0, 1-0 ACC) in its conference opening win. Michael Campanaro set career-highs with 164 yards on 13 catches, while Josh Harris gained 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground on 21 attempts.
Brynn Renner threw for 271 yards with a touchdown and interception for North Carolina (1-1, 0-1), which lost to its in-state rival for the third time in four matchups. A.J. Blue rushed for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown while filling in for the injured Gio Bernard. Erik Highsmith grabbed five catches for a team-best 71 yards.
North Carolina took a 7-0 lead with 5:49 left in the first quarter as Renner completed a six-yard touchdown pass to Eric Ebron.
Wake Forest even the scored just before the first period ended when Price took in himself for a two-yard touchdown rush.
The Tar Heels jumped back in front with just over 10 minutes to play in the first half as Blue capped off a 14-play, 79-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown rush to give UNC a 14-7 advantage.
The Demon Deacons answered with a four-yard touchdown run by Deandre Martin on their ensuing possession. With 4:31 left in the second quarter, Wake Forest took a 21-14 lead as Harris ran six yards for a touchdown.
North Carolina came roaring back in the second half. Freshman Romar Morris scored his first career touchdown as he ran four yards into the endzone to conclude a 12-play, 73-yard drive which put tied the score, 21-21.
Casey Barth put ahead, 24-21, with 2:50 left in the third frame when he chipped in a 25-yard field goal. Barth then added three more with just under 13 minutes left to play in the final quarter with another successful kick through the uprights, this time from 30 yards out.
UNC held onto the lead until Price's go-ahead touchdown at the 2:09 mark. The Tar Heels were unable to retake the lead as Renner was intercepted by Riley Haynes with 1:25 left.
The evenly matched battle was apparent in the yardage battle, as North Carolina narrowly outgained the Demon Deacons, 428-426, in total yards of offense.
The game was delayed for 75 minutes to a lightning storm.
