Boston College re-ups football coach Hafley through 2026

BOSTON (AP) Boston College coach Jeff Hafley has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Chestnut Hill through 2026.

The Eagles (6-6, 2-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) qualified for a bowl game for the second straight year despite finishing the regular season with back-to-back losses, including a 41-10 loss to No. 18 Wake Forest on Saturday. BC, which opted to skip a bowl game after the pandemic-interrupted 2020 season, awaits its matchup for this year.

"Jeff has had a tremendous impact on our football program over just two seasons at the Heights," athletic director Pat Kraft said Monday. "He has built a strong culture, both on and off the field, recruited talented student-athletes and helped us build meaningful relationships for the entire Boston College community. We are excited for the future of BC football under Jeff's leadership."
