Furman tops Mercer in SoCon Tourney quarterfinal | |
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) JP Pegues had 22 points in Furman's 73-58 victory against Mercer on Saturday in a Southern Conference Tournament matchup. Pegues shot 7 for 11 (4 for 7 from 3-point range) and 4 of 5 from the free throw line for the Paladins (25-7). Mike Bothwell was 5 of 9 shooting, including 1 for 3 from distance, and went 2 for 3 from the line to add 13 points. Jalen Slawson recorded 12 points and finished 5 of 9 from the field. The Bears (14-19) were led in scoring by Jalyn McCreary, who finished with 18 points. Mercer also got eight points and eight rebounds from James Glisson III. MORE | |
