J.D. MartinezOFTigers outfielder J.D. Martinez went 3-for-3 versus the Braves on Thursday.Martinez was great last season, slashing .315/.358/.553. It does, however, seem unlikely that he will maintain those numbers, and it also seems possible that he moves from fifth to sixth in the lineup with Yoenis Cespedes batting fifth. If owners can get him in a middle-round, by all means draft Martinez, but don't expect him to hit .300 again.3/5/2015 6:01:00 PM
Jose IglesiasSSTigers shortstop Jose Iglesias was very happy with the way he ran on Wednesday versus the Orioles according to the Detroit Free Press.Iglesias grounded out in both of his plate appearances, but the throw only got him by half a step each time. After the game, Iglesias said, "Three weeks from now, I will beat those." Iglesias is returning from dual stress fractures in his shins that caused him to miss the entire 2014 season.3/4/2015 5:38:00 PM
Victor MartinezDHTigers DH Victor Martinez (surgery on torn left meniscus) took 60 swings off the tee and ran on the anti-gravity machine on Monday afternoon. We reported earlier today that Martinez was in camp for his first workout, and the good news continues, as he will push to be ready by Opening Day. Owners should not shy away from drafting him high.3/2/2015 4:29:00 PM
Miguel Cabrera1BTigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera (foot) took live batting practice for the first time this spring according to beat writer Anthony Fenech. He isn't running yet, but owners should be cautiously optimistic about Cabrera being ready for Opening Day. He batted .313 with 25 HR, 109 RBI and an .895 OPS in what fantasy owners would call a "down" year after two MVP seasons in 2012-13.3/2/2015 4:04:00 PM
Victor MartinezDHTigers DH Victor Martinez (surgery on torn left meniscus) is in camp and will go through his first team workout on Monday, according to beat writer Anthony Fenech. He could still see enough at-bats to be ready for Opening Day. Martinez had a great season in 2014 (.335, 32 HR, 103 RBI, 87 runs, .974 OPS) and much is expected of him this season.3/2/2015 1:04:00 PM
Victor MartinezDHTigers DH Victor Martinez (surgery on torn left meniscus) is expected in training camp next week, according to manager Brad Ausmus. That's good news for fantasy owners and the Detroit offense. If get gets in camp at the beginning of March he could still see enough at-bats to be ready for Opening Day. Martinez had a great season in 2014 (.335, 32 HR, 103 RBI, 87 runs, .974 OPS) and much is expected of him this season.2/24/2015 11:44:00 AM

Justin VerlanderSPTigers starter Justin Verlander threw 60 pitches in a bullpen session, according to beat writer Anthony Fenech.Verlander appears to be ahead of schedule after offseason core muscle repair surgery. it's good news, but we still don't like our chances of seeing the "old" Verlander ever again. Joel HanrahanRPTigers reliever Joel Hanrahan still has soreness in his right arm, reports Tigers beat writer Anthony Fenech.Hanrahan, is two years removed from Tommy John surgery, but has yet to prove he can pitch again, much less be the closer he once was. He totaled 76 saves for the Pirates from 2011-12, but has pitched just 7 1/3 innings since the 2012 season.2/17/2015 8:28:00 AM
Rajai DavisCFTigers center fielder Rajai Davis says he's completely recovered from a groin injury suffered late last season that hurt his play in October, says Tigers beat writer Anthony Fenech.Davis is primarily a one-trick pony for fantasy owners. He's a base stealer, so if his legs aren't right then he's of little value to fantasy owners. He stole 36 bases in 2014 and 45 in 2013. He can be useful as a fill-in, but a low OPS and no power hurts his value.2/17/2015 8:23:00 AM
