Jeff SamardzijaSPRight-hander Jeff Samardzija has been traded to the Chicago White Sox in a multi-player deal.Samardzija was 7-13 with a very nice 2.99 ERA and 1.065 WHIP. Adam LaRoche1BFirst baseman Adam LaRoche agreed to a two-year, $25 million contract with the Chicago White Sox.With Jose Abreu the everyday first baseman, it appears as though the White Sox intend to start LaRoche at designated hitter. The 35-year-old hit .259/.362/.455 with 26 home runs and 92 RBI in 140 games during 2014. Alexei RamirezSSWhite Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss to the Tigers on Tuesday.Ramirez scored along with Adam Eaton to cut the Tiger lead to 3-2 in the top of the ninth. Marcus Semien then singled to score the tying run, which chased Detroit starter David Price. The Tigers, however, were still able to win the game. Alex CobbSPRays starter Alex Cobb allowed four runs on 10 hits over six innings in a loss to the Indians on Sunday.The 10 hits was a season-high, so Cobb was certainly hoping for a better start to cap off his superb season.
