Cards fire OC McCoy after blowout loss

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Cardinals fired offensive coordinator Mike McCoy a day after the team was blown out at home by the Denver Broncos on national television.

First-year head coach Steve Wilks said Friday that quarterbacks coach Byron Leftwich will take over the job for a club that is 1-6, the worst record in the league.

"Seven weeks into the season, based off where we were from the standpoint of production on the offensive side of the ball, I felt the need to make a change, and that's what I did," Wilks said at a news conference.

Dodgers' Freese to lead off vs. Miley

MILWAUKEE (AP) Left-hander Wade Miley will have to face to a right-handed hitter right away in Game 6 as the Milwaukee Brewers try to stave off elimination in the NL Championship Series.

Raiders' Lynch to miss at least 1 month

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch will miss at least a month because of a groin injury.

A person familiar with the injury said Friday that an MRI this week determined the severity of the injury. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has not made any announcement. NFL Network first reported the diagnosis. (MORE)

Jaguars get RB Hyde from Browns for pick

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars traded for Cleveland running back Carlos Hyde on Friday, adding a proven starter while Leonard Fournette progresses slowly from a strained right hamstring.

The Browns (2-3-1) will get a 2019 fifth-round draft pick from the Jaguars in exchange for Hyde, who has 382 yards rushing and five touchdowns in his first season in Cleveland. Hyde signed a three-year, $15.25 million contract in March. (MORE)

Wimbledon to play final-set tiebreaks

LONDON (AP) That epic 70-68 fifth set at Wimbledon will never be matched or surpassed, or even challenged.

The All England Club said Friday it will introduce final-set tiebreakers next year, starting when the score reaches 12-12 in the decider. (MORE)
